The term 'worker’ refers to the working population at large but also has a specific meaning in the context of employment law. ASCOR try to help both groups.
There are a number of organisations out there who are happy to assist workers. Our list of Participating Bodies (here) includes some of those organisations.
We have put together an A to Z of worker help and guidance (taken from both official sources and other reliable sources) where hopefully you'll be able to find the answers to your work-related questions, or at least a link to further information. You can find this page here.
All workers need to understand their employment status (that is, whether they are an 'employee', 'worker' or self-employed') when considering the rights and protections they have. Unfortunately, employment status can be very complicated to understand – particularly 'worker' status (sometimes known as limb b worker status) which can often apply to workers in the temporary labour market.
You can find guidance on employment status, including limb b worker status, on our page here.
If you have a question, concern or complaint and are not sure who to contact, then you can contact ASCOR here and we can point you in the right direction.
